Virtual & personal assistance — New Zealand

Your virtual and personal assistant in New Zealand.

JTR Global OpenWings Assist is a virtual and personal assistance service. Virtual, because your assistant works with you online — by chat, email and phone — wherever in the world you are. Personal, because it is one named human being who knows your case, not a queue and not a chatbot, and who will meet you in person around Auckland when a task needs somebody physically there. Jobs, accommodation, study, transport, health and everyday admin: we do the legwork and the forms, including writing your CV and your cover letters, so you can focus on settling in.

We are not immigration advisers or lawyers, and we do not give immigration or legal advice. We complete forms and organise documents on your instructions, and refer you to a licensed adviser or lawyer when advice is what you need.

Not everyone needs to pay for this, and we'd rather say so. There is a free account that never asks for a card, a full set of free settlement guides that account opens up, and a list of free official services that may already solve your problem. Find the option that actually fits you — for a lot of people, that option costs nothing.

JTR Global OpenWings Assist — a dedicated virtual and personal assistant business based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Virtual assistance wherever you are in the world · personal assistance in person around Auckland · CV writing and cover letters in every package

Assist is a virtual and personal assistant service. Immigration advice is given only by a Licensed Immigration Adviser or a lawyer, whom we refer you to.

Built for everyone finding their way in New Zealand

Students, working holidaymakers, skilled migrants, visitors and people who have lived here their whole lives all arrive at this from different places — so they shouldn't all be sold the same thing. Here is who we work with, and immediately after it, an honest guide to which route is right for you, including the free ones.

Students

Here on a student visa and juggling classes, budgeting, and a new city? We help with accommodation, part-time work referrals, and settling into study life.

Working holiday & skilled workers

On a working holiday or work visa? We refer you to real job opportunities and help you find your feet fast, wherever you land.

Tourists & travellers

Exploring New Zealand? Our short-stay essentials are free to read and there is nothing to sign — and if something goes sideways on the road, you can still reach us.

Locals & residents

Not a migrant? JTR Assist is for any New Zealander who wants a trustworthy hand finding housing, health, legal, or financial help too.

Start with what you actually need — not with a plan

A service that claims to suit everyone usually suits nobody in particular. So instead of one offer, there are nine routes below, and five of them are free. Find the line that sounds like you. If the honest answer is "you don't need us", the card says that, and points you somewhere better.

“I've just landed and I know nobody here.”

This is what the service was built for. Housing, work, a bank account, an IRD number and a doctor, handled by one named assistant instead of forty browser tabs and a Facebook group.

A weekly membership →

“I need one thing done fast, and nothing after that.”

No subscription, no membership, no ongoing relationship. One fixed fee, one task — a place to live or a round of job applications — and a one-week agreement that ends by itself.

One-off assistance →

“Money is the problem. I'm not earning yet.”

Then don't pay us yet. A free account and the free guides cost nothing, and the free official services — Citizens Advice, Community Law, Tenancy Services, Employment NZ — genuinely cover a lot of this. Come back when you're earning, or don't.

Free help that costs nothing →

“I'm fine online. Just tell me what to do.”

Fair enough. The free guides are the whole method, not a teaser: IRD, banking, tenancy and bond, licence conversion, enrolling with a doctor, work rights, and a CV that reads as local. All you need is a free account to read them — no card, no agreement, no upsell at the end.

Read the free guides →

“I'm not in New Zealand yet.”

You don't have to wait until you land. Your assistant works virtually, in your timezone, so the CV, the job applications and the accommodation shortlist can be underway before you get on the plane.

How starting early works →

“I'm only here for a couple of weeks.”

Then please don't sign a weekly contract with us. A free travel forum, the regional tourism sites and an i-SITE will serve you better. We've written down the short-stay things worth knowing anyway, free.

Short-stay essentials →

“My real problem is my visa.”

Then you need a Licensed Immigration Adviser or a lawyer, and you need them before you need us. By law we cannot advise on visas, and admin support won't fix a declined application. We'll refer you, and you can verify any licence yourself.

Where our help stops →

“I already live here. I just want someone verified.”

You don't need settling-in support — you need to not get scammed. Start with a free account, then any paid plan opens the full listings catalogue and the registered-provider side: real businesses, documented, with our notes on them, and you apply to them yourself with your own documents attached.

See the listing categories →

“I'm an employer, school, landlord or adviser.”

You're the other half of this. Register as a provider and we bring you clients who have already been through an intake — instead of you fielding enquiries from people who aren't ready.

Become a registered provider →

One trusted place, instead of a dozen strangers online

Searching for help on social media usually means wading through scattered listings, unsolicited messages, and providers you have no way to verify — sometimes scams. JTR Assist works differently.

Registered businesses

We ask every provider to confirm they are a registered New Zealand business and hold any licence their industry requires, and we keep what they give us on file.

Reviewed and documented

We review each application before a provider joins our network. Providers pay us a registration fee, or a weekly advertising fee, to join — we tell you that up front so you know how we are paid.

One assistant, not a crowd

You deal with one dedicated person who follows your case — not a flood of strangers in your inbox.

Support for the parts nobody warns you about

Every client is matched with a real, personal assistant online — not a new agent for every question. What you get help with depends entirely on your situation.

Our listings, yours to apply for

Members get access to our listing catalogue — the jobs, rooms and services from providers listed with us — and can apply for any of them themselves. Your profile is pasted onto every application automatically, so you only attach your documents, and we email you a copy of what was sent. See the catalogue

Pastoral care

Regular check-ins to see how you're doing and what you need next — someone in your corner through the quiet weeks migration guides never mention.

Job search support

We help you put together your CV and send it out, and point you to employers and vacancies — casual, part-time, or full-time. Your membership pays for that admin support only. We never charge you a fee, commission or premium for getting, keeping or being referred to a job, which is unlawful in New Zealand.

Accommodation support

We help you search for accommodation in your budget and area, and help you fill in and send applications. We charge no letting fee, key money or any other charge for granting or renewing a tenancy — that is prohibited in New Zealand, and your membership fee is for admin support whether or not you get the property.

Study enrolment

Help recording your study preferences, completing enrolment paperwork, and finding education providers to apply to. We assist with the process only — acceptance is always the provider's decision, and any student visa advice comes from a licensed adviser.

Health services

Feeling unwell or need to register with a doctor? We refer you to healthcare providers and help you understand how the health system works here.

Lawyer referrals

We are not a law firm and we don't give legal advice. If your situation needs it — a contract, a dispute, a tenancy problem — we refer you to a lawyer, then hold and process your documents on their instruction so things run smoothly.

Immigration adviser referrals

Under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007, only a Licensed Immigration Adviser or a lawyer may give immigration advice — so we don't. We refer you to one, then handle your paperwork on their instruction.

Financial hardship referrals

Facing an unexpected shortfall? We can point you to free budgeting services, Work and Income, and community support. We are not a lender, credit provider or financial adviser, we give no financial advice, and we recommend no particular loan or lender.

Community support & referrals

Connections to community groups, cultural associations, and peer networks — so you're not navigating a new country entirely on your own.

Everyday paperwork

Opening a bank account, applying for a driver's licence, getting your IRD number — we gather your documents and fill in the forms with the information you give us, on your instructions. Document handling and referrals only; the application is always yours.

Getting around: buying or renting a vehicle

Help comparing listings, arranging rentals, booking pre-purchase inspections, and completing the change-of-ownership and licensing paperwork. We are not a registered motor vehicle trader — we don't sell, own or import vehicles, we don't act as the seller's agent, and we arrange no vehicle finance or insurance. You choose and you sign; we handle the admin.

Local & travel advice

Real recommendations from people who know the area — where to eat, what's worth seeing, and how to get around New Zealand.

How it works — four steps, in this order

Sign up first, tell us your situation, sign your agreement, then pay. Nothing is charged until you have read and signed the contract for the term you picked.

1

Create your free account. It takes a minute and costs nothing — no card, no commitment.

2

Fill in your client form

Your status in New Zealand, what you need help with, and the background we need to write your CV and cover letters.

3

Choose your membership & sign

Pick your weekly plan, read the fixed-term agreement, and sign it. A copy is filed in your own document folders automatically.

4

Meet your assistant

One named person gets to know your case, writes your CV, and starts making applications and referrals on your behalf.

A virtual & personal assistant business — and only that

JTR Global OpenWings Assist is a virtual and personal assistant business run by JTR Global OpenWings Limited in Auckland. That is the whole business: one named assistant who takes the everyday legwork off your hands — job hunting, accommodation, CVs and cover letters, forms and appointments — online from anywhere in the world, or in person around Auckland. Think of us as your host in a new country: we organise, process and refer on your behalf.

For most people arriving in New Zealand, the visa turns out to be the easy part. We look after the part that comes after — the ordinary, everyday help that makes a new country start to feel like home.

One person who knows your situation, doing the searching, the forms and the follow-up with you — for as long as your plan runs.

— How JTR Global OpenWings Assist works

Start free. Pay only if you decide it's worth it.

There are five ways in, and the first one is free forever. Above the paid plans is a genuine free tier — no card, no agreement, nothing to cancel. Beyond it, every membership is quoted and charged as a weekly rate, so you never pay a whole term up front, and you sign the agreement before any money moves. CV writing and a tailored cover letter are included in every single paid package. All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST where GST applies.

Free account

For everyone — including the people we're not the right answer for.

See what the free guides cover →

  • The full settlement guides — IRD, banking, tenancy and bond, licence conversion, enrolling with a doctor, work rights, local CV conventions. Complete, not a preview, and free to read the moment your account exists
  • How the listings work — the categories, the regions and what we check before publishing. The catalogue itself, and applying through it, comes with any paid plan
  • Your own document folders — create and name folders and keep your passport, visa, references and tenancy paperwork in one organised place
  • Referrals to free official services — Citizens Advice, Community Law, Tenancy Services, Employment NZ and Inland Revenue, and to a Licensed Immigration Adviser when your question is a visa question
  • No upgrade pressure — a free account is a finished product, not a trial that expires. Nobody will chase you

What the free tier does not include is the full listings catalogue — that is part of every paid plan, along with the ability to apply through it yourself — or a person doing the work for you: no assistant assigned to your case, no calls made on your behalf, no forms filled in, no CV written. That is what the paid plans below buy — somebody's time.

All memberships connect you with our network of partner employers, landlords, and advisers, whom we approach on your behalf. We can't guarantee a specific outcome, but your assistant will pursue every avenue available. Your fee buys our time and admin work — it is not a fee for a job, a tenancy, a visa or a vehicle, and it does not change with the result. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Full details are in our Terms & Agreement.

Common questions

The free tier, weekly rates, contracts, CV writing, and the honest answers about who this suits and who it doesn't.

Are you a virtual assistant or a personal assistant?

Both — that is the whole point. JTR Global OpenWings Assist is a virtual and personal assistance service. Your assistant works with you virtually, by chat, email and phone, so you can start before you even land in New Zealand. They are also personal: one named human being who knows your case from beginning to end, and who can meet you in person around Auckland when a task genuinely needs someone physically there.

How much does it cost, and do I pay it all at once?

It can cost nothing at all. A free account is $0 forever — no card, no agreement — and the settlement guides are free to read without even signing up. If you want someone doing the work rather than reading about it, memberships are charged as a weekly rate, not a lump sum: $25 a week for 3 months, $15 a week for 6 months, or $10 a week for 12 months. You are never asked for the whole term up front. The longer the term you commit to, the lower your weekly rate. One-off assistance is the only exception — a single $199 fee for one task, with nothing ongoing.

What if I can't afford this right now?

Then don't buy it. We're aware the people who most need settlement help are often the people with the least money in their first few weeks, and we're not going to pretend a weekly fee is nothing when you're not earning yet. Use the free account and the free guides, and work through the free official services — Citizens Advice Bureau, Community Law, Tenancy Services, Employment New Zealand and Inland Revenue all help for free, with interpreters, and they are better than us at what they do. If you're in genuine financial hardship, tell us and we'll point you to hardship and community support at no charge. If you're earning later and still want an assistant, we'll be here.

What do I actually get if I never pay anything?

The complete settlement guides, your own document folders to organise your passport, visa and references, and referrals to the free official services — plus a referral to a Licensed Immigration Adviser if your question turns out to be a visa question. A free account is a finished product, not a trial that runs out, and nobody will chase you to upgrade. What it doesn't include is the full listings catalogue — browsing it and applying through it is part of every paid plan — or a person doing the work: no assistant on your case, no calls made for you, no forms filled in, no CV written. That's what the paid plans buy.

I don't want a subscription. Is there another way?

Yes. One-off assistance is a single fixed fee for a single task, under a one-week agreement that ends by itself — no weekly billing, no membership, nothing to remember to cancel. And if even that is more commitment than you want, the free account and the guides ask you to sign nothing at all.

I already have friends, family or an employer here. Do I need this?

Probably not, and you should keep your money. If someone is already sorting your housing and walking you through the paperwork, you have the thing we sell. What might still be worth a free account is the guides and your own document folders, because being well-connected doesn't make you immune to a rental scam. The verified listings themselves sit behind a paid plan, so only take one if you actually want to browse and apply.

I'm only in New Zealand for a couple of weeks. Should I sign up?

No. A fixed-term weekly agreement makes no sense for a short trip, and we'd be selling you something you can't use. The short-stay essentials are free to read, and for where to go and what to book, a free travel forum, the regional tourism sites and an i-SITE visitor centre will genuinely serve you better than we would.

My visa was declined, or my situation is complicated. Can you help?

Not with the visa itself, and it would be wrong of us to imply otherwise. Under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007 only a Licensed Immigration Adviser or a lawyer may give immigration advice, and admin support does not fix a declined application, a character or medical issue, an appeal or a section 61 request. We refer you to a licensed adviser, and you can check anyone's licence yourself for free on the Immigration Advisers Authority register — including anyone we suggest. We are the layer after the visa, not before it.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes. Because you are paying weekly over a fixed term, you sign a service agreement before anything is charged. It sets out your weekly rate, the exact length of your term, what we will do for you, and that the term cannot be cancelled part-way through or refunded. You read it and sign it on your account page, and a copy is filed automatically in your own document folders so you always have it.

What does one-off assistance cover?

One task, for one fixed fee of $199: either finding accommodation, or a round of job hunting. You choose which. We deliver it in a day where we can, and within one week at the very most. If you need help with both, or need it for longer than a week, a weekly membership is the right fit — job and accommodation searches usually take weeks, not days.

Is CV writing included, or is it extra?

It is included in every package, including the $199 one-off. A professional CV written for the New Zealand market, plus a cover letter tailored to each application we send on your behalf. There is no separate charge for either.

Can I cancel part-way through my membership term?

No — a membership cannot be cancelled part-way through, and there are no refunds. When you choose a 3, 6 or 12-month membership you commit to the whole term: the weekly payments continue until the term is finished, and payments already made are not refunded. Once your term is complete it ends by itself and does not renew, so you simply finish the term first. Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 are not affected — if we fail to provide the service, we put it right or refund the part we did not provide.

Do you give immigration advice?

No, and we are clear about that by law. Under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007, only a Licensed Immigration Adviser or a lawyer may give immigration advice. We complete forms and organise documents on your instructions, pass on information published by Immigration New Zealand, and refer you to a licensed adviser or a lawyer when advice is what you actually need.

How do I get started?

Sign up for a free account first — no card needed. Then fill in your client form so we know your situation and have what we need to write your CV. Then choose your weekly plan and sign the agreement. Only at that point do you pay anything.

Where can I keep the documents you need from me?

Every client gets their own document folders inside their account. You can add a folder, name or rename it, and upload passports, visas, references, tenancy paperwork and anything else into the folder it belongs in. Your signed agreement is filed there automatically.

Ready for someone in your corner?

Tell us where you are in your journey and we'll match you with an assistant within two business days. Or start with the free tier and decide later — there is no card, no agreement and no catch, and plenty of people never need more than that.
